Can you *really* overcome PCOS?

Updated: Nov 17

So many Women are suffering with PCOS, and they’ve been told its incurable.

So does it have a cure?

A "CURE" is a clinical word, and since I'm a holistic Nutritional Therapist and NOT a medical doctor, it's not my place to say whether it's ever cured or not. ❌👉BUT HERE'S WHAT I CAN SAY💡

I've seen women go from debilitating symptoms to living symptom free lives!🦋

The PCOS Effect📉

Women are so often diagnosed with PCOS and then told their options are to “lose weight” or go on “the pill”.

But neither of those things address the root cause of PCOS.

🤷🏻‍♀️Why did you get PCOS to begin with?

Some say its genetic. And they might be right. If your mother or sister has PCOS, you’re more likely to have it too.

Here’s where people get it wrong though. Just because it’s genetic, doesn’t mean you’re doomed!

Your genes are influenced by your lifestyle choices. The food you eat literally “turns on” and “turns off” certain genes!  That’s called epigenetics, and its absolutely lifechanging.

I’ve seen women go from: 🔥

  • Irregular or absent menstrual cycles

  • Infertility

  • Gut issues

  • Mood swings, depression & anxiety

  • Painful periods

  • Insomnia/sleep issues

  • Unexplained weight gain or weight loss

✅TO:

  • Regular, predictable cycles

  • Pain free periods

  • Stable, energetic moods

  • No more bloating

  • Healthy sleep & waking energized

  • Managed weight without dieting or missing out on your favorite foods!

These women came to me STRUGGLING🥀

🌹But they graduated coaching with a whole new life experience!

💫Don’t take it from me! Take it from JC

“Before coaching, PCOS symptoms mostly exhibited were fatigue irregular periods and random mood swings and I just basically wanted to get my body on track and be as healthy as possible.”❔What progress did JC make?“ Big…seems my PCOS symptoms have subsided and I’m now also pregnant🥳”

I can't say she was "cured", but J.C. messaged me a few weeks later to tell me that she had a scan and they found "no trace of PCOS"🌻🥳

🚩Back to Epigenetics

So, how do you know which foods “turn off the PCOS genes”?

That’s a much bigger question to unpack, and I’ll try not to be confusing with all the big words.

PCOS is not just hormonal.

PCOS comes with Insulin Resistance; blood sugar imbalance & higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes if left untreated.

PCOS often comes with gut health issues; bloating, indigestion, acid reflux, etc.

It also usually comes with high stress & weight gain.

Plus some nutrient deficiencies; these are usually the real root cause.

All of these things affect what the “right” Nutrition is for you individually.

🌻You’re Unique.

Your Treatment Plan Should Be Too.

PCOS is a tough cookie.

If you feel like you’ve tried all the things and nothing really helped your symptoms, it’s probably because your treatment plan hasn’t been taking your unique needs into consideration.

What precise Hormonal Imbalances do you have?

What unique Nutrient Deficiencies do you have?

What’s the health of your thyroid look like?

What’s your gut health look like?

What are your health goals?

You’re not expected to have the answers to all those questions (except the last one).

That’s where WE come in!
