Let me ask you: When was the last time you had a period that felt… normal?
No unexpected spotting, heavy flow, unbearable cramps, or hormonal chaos taking over your emotions…😵💫
If you had to think hard about that, you're not alone.
For many women, irregular, painful, or heavy periods have become the norm.😩
And we’ve been told it’s “just part of being a woman.”
Or, It’s normal, just get over it. (I feel that’s the worst one I’ve heard so far)
👉 But what if I tell you it doesn’t have to be!
Sounds like a dream, right? Trust me it isn’t!!
🌹Having a healthy, pain-free, and predictable period is a sign that your body is in balance. (Something all we ladies want).
So, what could be going wrong if your periods are far from normal?
I’ve hired a detective (me😜) to find the clues, and these are the prime suspects:
Suspect #1- Hormonal Imbalances🧬
Imbalances in estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones can lead to irregular or heavy periods, mood swings, and more.
PCOS, thyroid issues, or other endocrine disorders often cause these imbalances.
Women with PCOS often experience missed or prolonged periods due to insulin resistance and high androgen levels.
🥀While, Endometriosis can cause severe pain and heavy bleeding, making your periods anything but normal.
Suspect #2- Stress 😵💫
Chronic stress affects your body's cortisol levels, which in turn can wreak havoc on your menstrual cycle, leading to irregularities or even skipped periods.
🚩Even thinking of missed periods can further cause stress!
Too much cardio or not enough movement can both disrupt your period by affecting cortisol (stress) levels.
Women who over train may stop ovulating altogether, while a sedentary lifestyle can worsen symptoms like bloating or cramps.
Suspect #3- Nutrient Deficiencies🥦
Poor nutrition, lack of essential vitamins like B12, B6, Vitamin D, Chromium, iron, or magnesium, and a diet high in processed foods can make your periods heavier, more painful, or irregular.
A diet high in sugar, processed foods, or unhealthy fats (like seed oils) can increase inflammation, which worsens PMS symptoms, cramps, and irregular cycles.
Looks like stress wasn’t our only problem.😒
So are you doomed to suffer?🥀
Absolutely NOT! All of these are suspects, but once you know what’s causing your suffering, you’re well on your way to finding relief!🌹
